As a dedicated Listener, my commitment to my clients is to foster and maintain an environment whereby individuals can feel free to express themselves and share information under strict confidentiality. In the case of any inclinations of the individual to harm or hurt themselves then this confidentiality must be breached and the appropriate persons and organisations must be contacted. This must be communicated to the individuals and explained that suchactions arein compliance with best practice procedures and protocall. Clients under my care will be engaged in conversation one-on-one with the advantage of having my undivided attention and support. It is also important to me that clients feel no obligation to remain in sessions with me where they do not feel comfortable. This will be clearly communicated to the client so clients can easily opt out of sessions at any time and discontinue the sessions. I operate under a safe space policy and this includes respect and consideration for the client. In like manner respect and due consideration will be the expectaion on behalf of the client during the listening sessions.
