My role as an empathic listener is to be supportive, kind,  caring while offering support.I am able to listen carefully, validate the person and be present without judgment. I will help the individual reflect, where possible. Where appropriate, I repeat key phrases to encourage the speaker to open up and offer reassures that I am listening.
