I’m a National Board Certified Counselor who is also a Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee licensed by the Virginia Board of Counseling while I am completing my last two courses of study to satisfy the requirements for my LPC licensure program so as to begin my supervision hours in September. I have been working with children and adolescents in a variety of different settings including rural, suburban and urban environments where I provided individual and group counseling services for many years. My approach to counseling is based on a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and talk therapy with a trauma informed approach that helps to improve the overall functioning of the client’s mental health and self image as well as the emotional state of mind.
