As a good and effective counsellor, I would like to serve effective counseling with good concern in the realm of cognitive health, mental piece and personal growth. As a good counsellor relationship with client and a counselor is foundation in between, centered on the art of active listening. While hearing a passive physiological ac, active listening in counseling is a deliberate, psychological process used to understand the client vocal and non vocal messages according to observance of face gesture. A skilled counselor acts as a listener-first, creating a safe, non-judgemental space that allows client to explore their vulnerabilities, fear, and emotions without fear of criticism. Active listnening involves fully engaging with the client, not just with word, but through body language-maintaining eye contact, nodding and leaning forward-to demonstrate empathy and presence. This technique helps build rapport, ensuring the client feels heard, understood, supported, which is essential for effective counseling. A counsellor role as a listener also involves interpreting non- verbal cues to grgasp the true, sometimes hidden, meaning behind a client story. Counselor help client feel secure enough to confront personal challenges. This process reduces psychological pain and empowers aur build up to gain insight into their own behaviors and thoughts. Ultimately, the counselor as a listener acts as a mirror, reflecting feelings and thought back to the client, facilitating healing, self-discovery and personal growth. The ability to listen without evaluating or interrupting is, therefore, the most vital skill in establishing a therapeutic relationship.
