Hello, my name is Maria and I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor. Acknowledging that we need help and reaching out is a really big, and sometimes a daunting step and it is important that you find the right counsellor for you. Whether you have been feeling anxious, depressed, lost, stressed, isolated, overwhelmed or misunderstood, I can support you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore what makes you “you”. This can include exploring how events of the past might be influencing the present, to understand how you experience and cope with life’s stresses and consider how you might want to challenge and adapt these to feel more fulfilled. One of the key aspects of the way I work is working relationally. This means that we will work together collaboratively throughout the therapeutic journey. Working integratively means I am able to draw upon the person-centered, cognitive and psychodynamic approaches in order to tailor my approach to you (so there is no one size fits all approach to our work together). So whether you are having a difficult time at the moment, or whether you feel you would benefit from further insight to understand yourself better, please do reach out. I have a particular interest in providing support to individuals who are challenged by addictions and also those who struggle with workplace stresses. A counselling relationship is a professional one, which is based on the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework.
