Sandra Rizzello

I am a trainee counsellor qualifying within a Person-Centred approach. My training has centred on developing a deep understanding of the therapeutic relationship as the primary vehicle for change. Central to my practice is the capacity to listen with empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard, creating a safe and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. Throughout my course, I have developed the skill of empathic listening — not simply hearing what is said, but striving to understand the client’s internal frame of reference. I aim to remain fully present, attentive and emotionally attuned, trusting that when individuals feel genuinely heard and accepted, they are more able to access their own resources for growth and change. Grounded in Person-Centred philosophy, I view clients as inherently capable and orientated towards self-actualisation. My role is not to direct or advise, but to offer a consistent relational environment characterised by empathy, congruence and respect. I am committed to ongoing reflection and supervision to ensure that I practise ethically, sensitively and in alignment with the core conditions of the Person-Centred approach.
